Duration: 2 years
The candidate will become part of a team in charge of the development of basic and detailed engineering design of electrical distribution systems for the oil and gas industry.
Projects consist of the development of basic design, detailed installation design, single-line diagram conception, consumer list and load flow calculation, equipment sizing and specification, wiring diagrams, trouble shooting diagrams. These activities are mainly developed in the oil and gas industry, petro-chemical activities, power plants either for grass root plants or revamping projects.
Report to the Engineering Manager.
The Electrical Design Engineer will be in charge of:
• Single line diagram conception and detailed design.
• Consumer list population.
• Protective diagrams for HV, LV.
• Load flow, short-circuit calculation, protection sizing.
• Wiring diagrams and detailed design development.
• Equipment specification (HV intake sub station, HV switchgear, LV switchboards and MCC's, transformers, capacitor banks, UPS and DC supplies, lighting equipment,etc.),
• Earthing system sizing, calculation and equipment specification.
• Interface with packaged mechanical equipment vendors.
• Supervision of connection and troubleshooting drawings made by drafting persons.
• Purchase order technical follow-up,
• Participation to factory acceptance tests and site acceptance tests when applicable.
• Participation to pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up activities where applicable.

| Skill Required | Please note that ALL candidates must have oil and gas experience and be electrical engineers.
• Electrical engineering degree\diploma.
• 5-10 years of experience in the area of electrical design (High Voltage, Low Voltage, earthing, lighting) in the oil industries, with explosion proof equipment,
• Experienced in grass root and revamping projects, site surveys, knowledge in the computerized tools for engineering development (AutoCad 14 and 2000, SKM Dapper, ETAP, etc.),
• Familiar with international standards such as IEC, NEC NFPA 70, BS, etc.
• Experience required with major electrical equipment (Alstom, Schneider, Siemens, General Electric, etc.)
• Fluent English spoken and written required.
• Fluent in French- an advantage.
